Elopement at San Diego City Hall/Bayfront Park with Chelsea and Gabe

I love shooting civil weddings at Bayfront Park. I’m serious… LOOOVE’em.

I was so happy to shoot that particular wedding for two reasons. One, I just told you… It’s Bayfront Park. I mean, come on. How would I not love shooting there? Two, this was Chelsea’s wedding (and Gabe too) but I knew Chelsea already. Chelsea was my oldest daughter’s favorite teacher and when Chelsea announced at school she was getting married, my oldest came home that night and asked me for my business card. She reaaaally wanted me to photograph her wedding and kind of jumped the gun the next day out of excitement announcing to whom would listen to her I was for sure shooting her wedding... of course nothing was confirmed It was a tad awkward until Chelsea and I met. we ended up having a great conversation and a good laugh. We both thought it was just very sweet.

There are so many opportunities to shoot some really fun and creative photos at Bayfront Park. I love featuring the building usually but they are still working on it. ugh. We had a great time though shooting around that. I love limitations. It makes me more creative.

I love humoristic photos at wedding as I’m sure you will notice because it breaks through the “seriousness” of the event. I think there are a few in there that really make me chuckle when I see them; and I know Chelsea enjoyed them too.

Anyways, enjoy the photos.
