Newsletter: exhibiting my work #2

Portraits of my father: Behind the scenes at the Lyceum

you know that thing I've been talking about for the past 2 and something years... yes, THAT one.

Well, it's finally being shown
and I want to cordially invite you to come and see the work in person.

There is an artist toast on

May 31st  (yes, tomorrow) from 6 pm to 7 pm
Lyceum Gallery

and I am inviting ALL OF YOUs to come to say hi, see the work, get a drink, etc.
I am just really thankful I can even do this and share this project but what could be better than sharing it with the people I've been writing to all this time.

For a good cause

Like I told you in my last newsletter, I was planning on choosing a cause and raising some money for an organization through the sale of these prints. Well, here's the organization: Corazon de Vida

Originally, I wanted to work with a fatherhood-oriented organization but who better to fundraise for than an organization dedicated to kids without parents.

Here's a snippet of who they are:

Corazon de Vida (CDV) is a 26+ year US 501c3 non-profit organization providing life-changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico by funding local orphanages, providing quality of life improvement services, and investing in the children’s future by funding higher education.

I've worked with them in the past and they are wonderful people that truly do wonderful work for these kids.

A bit of press

it feels very nice when these things happen... for some context for the non-photographers in this list, PetaPIxel is a big big deal in the photo news industry, and to be featured on it felt very very good. it feels like a further validation that I haven't poured myself into this project for good reasons. Talking about masculinity, love, and fatherhood in a healthy way is worth talking about.

Click on the image or this link to read the article on PetaPixel. it's actually pretty good honestly.
