storytelling and photography
Hi, I am Antoine.
I am a French transplant living in San Diego married to a beautiful and very smart woman and I have 2 amazing quirky and goofy daughters Nyla and Anaïs.
... I also am a wedding and family documentary photographer.
The first time I picked up a professional camera, I took a picture of my daughter. ... Well, I was hooked after the first couple of clicks. In fact, I still have a very clear mental picture of the first image I took. Photography grew on me slowly but burned a very steady fire within me over the next 4 years until it consumed me. Now my wife has to ask me to put the camera down. That first time I clicked the shutter of a camera, I immediately felt the potential to showcase life at its most honest; to grab tiny little moments of intimacy that I could not let get away. I felt that the most beautiful moments I would ever experience with my kids and the people around me would be those same tiny moments that are precious and yet forgettable unless someone is present to witness them. My camera, my craft, my eye are now the witnesses to those moments.
I think photography is an amazing storytelling tool because it paints a picture (literallY) and yet lets your imagination fill in the blanks of the story beyond the frame. I am greatly influenced by my love for photojournalism, films and sci-fi books in the way I shoot. I have almost always worked on the periphery of storytelling during my professional years in Marketing and Public Relations and yet it took me years to realize that and to find a tool that would allow me to tell the stories I wanted to tell... looking back, it was so obvious but that DSLR saved me once I held it in my hands.
And that's why I shoot the way I do... whether I am shooting a corporate event, a wedding or one of my signature A Day In The Life shoots, I work hard to tell the story of your life.
